pursuit of quality
Clayhill Stud was established in 2015 as a registered Angus and Black Simmental stud. We run a number of registered cows producing Angus, SimAngus and Black Simmental bulls for fellow cattle producers. We use the pick of these bulls to put over our predominantly straight Angus cows.
Our main focus is on breeding an easy going functional female to suit both coastal conditions and the domestic trade. The result of the pursuit for maternal functional cattle is the production of high quality bulls.
Our foundation cows are from high quality studs including Witherswood, Millah Murrah and Kansas Angus, as well as a small number of Black Simmental cows from Webb and Xsim in Victoria.
Top price at Witherwood first female sale in 2017. We have a few of her progeny on the ground now and they are looking good.
One of Witherswoods top donors. Purchased at 2018 Dispersal. Currently having 17 registered progeny to date.
One of our favourite cows. She was purchased at the 2015 Kansas Angus Dispersal. The Annie family is proving to be one of the great families in the Australian angus breed.
A very correct A241 cow, out of one of Ardrossan Angus great donors W211. She has worked well in both our Angus and SimAngus programs.
Purchased at Witherswoods final bull sale. He is a larger frame bull and is being used over our heifers.
The 2015 Sydney Royal Simmental Senior Champion. We used him over some of our Angus cows. He has given us some great SimAngus females, that will be in our herd for many years to come.
